DQ2
The Future of the Gap
In Discussion 1, you discussed the North-South Gap as it exists in present day. During the discussion, you probably realized that creating fair and balanced international development, safeguarding human rights, and protecting the global environment are all major concerns most international leaders share today. As you have been learning from your papers throughout this course, there is always a need to look towards the future, and many disagreements exist over how to effectively tackle these impending challenges today and tomorrow. How should global leaders address these future concerns? Will the gaps widen or narrow? Select a scenario from the National Intelligence Council’s publication Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds and briefly discuss how international development, human rights, and the global environment will change, as postulated by the scenario you selected. Discuss positive and/or negative impacts to international development, human rights, and the global environment, and if the gaps between states will widen or close. Utilize specific examples from the News Review section as well as any videos from the course.
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references.

Week 3 – B: Discussion 2 ENG 125

Listen to We Real Cool and My Papa’s Waltz. These clips
demonstrate the importance of performance, rhythm, and musicality in the poetic
form.

Describe your listening experience of one or more of the poems.
(If you prefer, you may find a recording of another poem from the course
readings and describe your listening experience of it instead. If you choose
this option, be sure to provide a link to the audio of the chosen poem.) How did
hearing the text(s) recited aloud compare to a silent reading of it/them? Did
the performance in any ways add to or detract from your experience of the text?
Did the performance change your perception of the poem or its content in any
ways? Explain how (or how not).
